Working

I have moved Moon Gate to a smaller working space.  It changes in different space and lighting.  The more I Iook at it the more I realize that the piece does what I hoped that it would do.  There is a the moment at dawn when you can still see the moon and the sun is starting to rise.  The sky and the earth seem to be one.  The morning that I watched the sun rise at the iris farm in Lafayette was foggy.  Birds and insects were singing.  Dogs barked and a rooster crowed in the distance.  Occassionally a car drove by on the main road.  The sounds were peaceful and still.

This drawing is starting to have the feel of that morning.

Pliable Drawing

I am beginning to think of this form as a pliable drawing.  Moon Gate here in a collapsed configuration in the studio.  I am sure both the drawing and presentation will change between now and its presentation at French & Michigan Gallery.

Louisiana Iris Order

I am putting a list of irises together.  Now is the best time to order from Louisiana Iris Farms since they ship from September 1 to November 15th. My current favorites are the subtle rusty beige irises but they are all gorgeous.
